Cast of Young Millionaires
Igor Gotesman, a frequent collaborator with Netflix, is back again with Young Millionaires, a new teen dramedy co-created with Carine Prévôt, Mahault Mollaret, and Olivia Barlier. Here’s everything we know so far, including the early expected release date in August 2025.
Igor Gotesman may not be a household name internationally yet, but Netflix subscribers in France will be familiar with his work. After bringing three seasons of Family Business to Netflix, a sharp and absurd comedy about a kosher butcher shop turned cannabis dispensary, Gotesman then returned in 2024 with Fiasco. The miniseries, co-created with Pierre Niney, saw the OSS 117 actor play a first-time director whose debut shoot descends into chaos. Filled with celebrity cameos and laced with cringe-heavy mockumentary stylings, Fiasco was one of Netflix France’s more ambitious swings this year.
The directors of the series are Igor Gotesman, Théo Jourdain, Mohamed Chabane, and Tania Gotesman, with Carine Prévot and Olivia Barlier listed as writers. Five Dogs is producing the series.
When is Young Millionaires coming to Netflix?
The show is slated to release sometime in 2025, according to Netflix France’s official calendar. Initial reports suggested a Spring debut, but our understanding is that Netflix is set to launch the series on August 13th, 2025.
What is Young Millionaires about?
Unveiled at the French Fiction Festival in La Rochelle, Young Millionaires follows four high schoolers from Marseille—Samia, Léo, David, and Jess—who strike it rich by winning €17 million in the French lottery. The only catch? None of them are 18, so they can’t legally claim the prize. Their solution involves 18-year-old Victoire, who helped pick one of the winning numbers but isn’t exactly part of their inner circle. As they juggle family drama, final exams, and a fortune they can’t touch, the show explores how wealth and adolescence collide. Netflix France’s Pauline Dauvin called it “a story about friendship and how young people come of age when the stakes are this high.”
Who’s in the cast?
Rather than rely on star power, the show taps into rising French talent. The ensemble includes Abraham Wapler (ReuSSS), Malou Khebizi (Wild Diamond), Calixte Broisin-Doutaz (En Famille), plus newcomers Sara Gançarski and Jeanne Boudier.
They’re joined by Florian Lesieur, Victor Bonnel, Margot Heckmann, Alexis Rosenstiehl, Elma Urriaga, Allan Marcelli, Stéphan Wojtowicz, Paul Pina, Clélia Barnoin, Léopold Pélagie, Stéphane Brel, Sophie Garagnon, and Idir Azougli.
Where was it filmed?
Production took place in and around Marseille between August and mid-October 2024. Locations included the Lycée Les Calanques and nearby towns like La Seyne-sur-Mer, offering a vivid local backdrop for the series. Reporting from MadeInMarseille captured the production filming in the Camas district of Marseille.
How many episodes?
Young Millionaires will run for eight episodes, each around 35 minutes long.
