‘Virgin River’ Season 7 Gets Exciting Early 2026 Release Date Update
The next season of the show is returning in March, according to show star Benjamin Hollingsworth
Last month, we got the sad news that the wait for Virgin River would be extended throughout the remainder of 2025 and into 2026. While we’ve known the series would be coming out in 2026, we didn’t know whether it’d be in the early part of the year, as we suspected, or much later. Thankfully, we won’t be waiting that long, with a March 2026 premiere being eyed for the returning Netflix show.
The news of the release date comes courtesy of FOX5 in New York, which mentioned the release month several times during their interview with star Ben Hollingsworth, who plays Dan Brady. The host announced the show’s release month as March, and later Hollingsworth confirmed it when specifically asked.
He was on the morning show Good Day New York on November 13th, discussing his brand-new movie The Christmas Ring, in which he co-stars with Kelsey Grammar. It’s in theaters for 2 weeks with a VOD release planned.
After discussing the movie, Hollingsworth was asked several probing questions about the upcoming seasons. The star said that it was “still hitting home” that Virgin River has become Netflix’s longest-running show at eight seasons, calling it “surreal” and saying, “to be the longest-running show is such a blessing. I love my character, I have such an attachment to Brady.” Although he did hint he’s having to fight hard behind the scenes to get Brady some luck in the series, citing that his character’s address is “between a rock and a hard place.”

Teasing the upcoming seventh season, Hollingsworth said, “Brady left off having no money in his bank account,” referring to the fact that he had all his money stolen in season 6. “He’s now broke (again) and Brie, his love, his new first true real love, has now been proposed to with Mike with a plastic cap bottle cap ring out of nowhere. So it’s a lot of cliffhangers. He’s going to hunt down that money and find his ex-girlfriend, and he’s also going to navigate whether he can get back with Brie.”

At this stage, it’s worth noting that neither Netflix nor the official Virgin River social media account has yet confirmed the return month or date. The only thing Netflix has confirmed came in the Q3 earnings call when Ted Sarandos listed Virgin River amongst the 2026 returns. That confirmation came shortly after Alexandra Breckenridge hinted that a 2026 return was on the cards, so as not to have the show competing with the big Q4 shows like Stranger Things.
We also uncovered a preliminary filming window for season 8, which is deep in development as we speak, courtesy of a charity listing suggesting the show will get back into production from next April. We’ve seen this numerous times: various shows return and then go back into production shortly after their premiere.
As it currently stands, the only other premiere scheduled for March so far is One Piece season 2, releasing on March 10th.
We’ll keep our ear to the ground for any additional information on the release date for Virgin River season 7 as and when we get it.
