Happy Friday, and welcome to your weekend rundown of everything that hit the streamer in the United States over the past seven days. It was a busy week in the end with 40 new movies (including many Christmas movies dropping just in time for Thanksgiving), 41 new series, and a couple of brand new games hitting mobile, too. We’ll walk you through our highlights first, dive into the full list of everything new, and then see what’s been trending in the daily top 10s throughout the week.
In case you missed it, we got the complete list of everything joining Netflix throughout December 2025 on Wednesday, and just today, we got even more titles added to the list, including James Cameron’s incredible Titanic, as well as the streaming debut of Relay, a thriller starring Riz Ahmed and Lily James.
What to Watch on Netflix This Weekend
This Is Going To Hurt (Limited Series)
Number of episodes: 7
Rating: TV-14
Language: English
Genre: Biography, Comedy, Drama
Cast: Ben Whishaw, Ambika Mod, Rory Fleck Byrne
Writer: Adam Kay
For most, Ben Whishaw will have first been introduced to you through the James Bond films or if you’re more of a Netflix-only person, through Black Doves season 1 late last year. Arguably, the actor’s best role on his resume is the medical black comedy series This Is Going to Hurt, which arrives on Netflix courtesy of a US renewal deal with AMC, which first aired the show Stateside.
The synopsis reads, “Witty and dedicated but completely overworked, Adam tries to balance his busy personal life with his work in the hospital’s unforgiving OB-GYN ward.”
The series picked up 4 coveted BAFTA awards following its first run on the BBC in the United Kingdom, and at a short 7-episode length, you can easily binge this incredible and addictive series in a single weekend.
Homeland (Seasons 1-8)
Number of episodes: 96
Rating: TV-MA
Language: English
Genre: Crime, Drama, Mystery
Cast: Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend
Writer: Alex Gansa, Howard Gordon
Runtime: 55 min
Also on the subject of new licensed titles, yesterday we saw the arrival of Homeland in the United States for the first time ever (it also returned to most regions globally). While most people’s opinions differ on the series, especially as you get into the later seasons, you can’t deny that at one point, it was Showtime’s flagship and most coveted show.
Headlined by Claire Danes, who just appeared in the Netflix Original series The Beast in Me (which topped the charts for the week as we’ll come onto shortly), the series is adapted from an Israeli title with the plot revolving around a CIA analyst who is dealing with a boatload of personal issues while also being thrust deep into the war against terror.
It’s a long binge with Bingeclock putting it at 3 days and 12 hours and 17 minutes to watch the show from start to finish – good luck!
North Hollywood (2021)
Rating: TV-MA
Language: English
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Sport
Director: Mikey Alfred
Cast: Ryder McLaughlin, Miranda Cosgrove, Vince Vaughn
Runtime: 93 min / 1h 33m
Kicking off our two movie picks for the week, we start with *North Hollywood*, a rather late addition to the Netflix lineup for November. The film follows a high school skater trying to choose between chasing his dream of going pro or taking the more conventional path laid out by his father. That tension, plus the sun-bleached Los Angeles backdrop, gives the story an easygoing rhythm that still carries real emotional bite.
Critics praised the film’s grounded charm, its authentic feel for skate culture, and its sharp eye for the awkward, earnest turbulence of growing up. Ryder McLaughlin anchors the story with a quiet, thoughtful lead performance, joined by Miranda Cosgrove, Vince Vaughn, and a collection of real skaters who give the film its authenticity.
Train Dreams (2025)
Rating: PG-13
Language: English
Genre: Drama
Director: Clint Bentley
Cast: Kerry Condon, Felicity Jones, Joel Edgerton
Writer: Clint Bentley, Denis Johnson, Greg Kwedar
Runtime: 102 min / 1h 42m
What is Netflix’s best shot at Oscar glory this year? Frankenstein? KPop Demon Hunters? Definitely amongst Netflix’s brightest prospects is Train Dreams, a highly coveted Sundance Film Festival pickup for the streamer that follows a logger who leads a life of quiet grace as he experiences love and loss during an era of monumental change in early 20th-century America.
The movie has picked up a slate of positive reviews since its early premiere in the year, right through all of the various awards and film festivals it’s now exhibited at, and we joined that chorus of strong praise in our review published yesterday. Giving the movie a four-star rating, Andrew Morgan concluded for us, “A methodical, haunting, & poetic examination of life, love, & grief at the end of frontier life into the 20th century. Edgerton, Jones, & Condon make every scene count for Oscar-nominated writers Clint Bentley & Greg Kwedar.”
