Netflix has picked up a brand new comedy film from Bad Santa 2 writer Johnny Rosenthal. Maximum Effort, Ryan Reynolds’s production company, will produce, and Amy Williams will produce too. Details are limited, but the film will be centered on Roxie, a carefree writer who babysits her uptight sister’s children for a week.
Aunt Roxie is an upcoming Netflix Original comedy created and written by Johnny Rosenthal. He is best known for writing Bad Santa 2 and has recently sold his script for the film Christmas in Paradise to Amazon and MGM Studios.
Ryan Reynolds’ production company, Maximum Effort, will produce the film. Reynolds is best known for his portrayal of the comic-book anti-hero Deadpool and has starred in several Netflix projects, including 6 Underground, Red Notice, and The Adam Project. Reynolds is also due to star in the upcoming Netflix film Eloise.
Amy Williams will also produce, who has produced films such as Rally Caps, A Dark Foe, and Beast Within.
