Netflix Losing Two More Mobile Games: Scriptic: Crime Stories and Reigns: Three Kingdoms

Netflix Losing Two More Mobile Games: Scriptic: Crime Stories and Reigns: Three Kingdoms

Two notable titles in the Netflix Games library, Scriptic: Crime Stories and Reigns: Three Kingdoms, are set to leave the service soon. Both have been standout additions for different reasons: Scriptic brought a modern, interactive detective experience told through a phone interface, while Reigns: Three Kingdoms offered strategic decision-making rooted in classical Chinese history.

What two games are up for removal? Here’s your rundown:

Scriptic: Crime Stories

Released on Netflix: December 6, 2022

Developer: Electric Noir Studios

Leaving Netflix: December 8th

An interactive crime drama experience where you become the lead investigator. The game unfolds through a realistic phone interface, letting you dig through suspects’ messages, social media profiles, photos, and video clips to uncover clues. Your decisions shape how each case progresses, who you trust, and ultimately how the investigation ends. It blends detective work with storytelling, creating the feel of piecing together evidence in real time.

Reign: Three Kingdoms

Release Date: November 29, 2022

Developer: Nerial Limited

Leaving Netflix: November 30th

A strategy game inspired by the Three Kingdoms era of Chinese history. You swipe between choices to decide alliances, battles, diplomacy, and internal affairs while balancing the interests of generals, nobles, peasants, and rival factions. Every decision affects the stability of your kingdom, and the wrong move can quickly topple your dynasty. It turns complex political history into a simple but high-stakes game of ruling, surviving, and expanding your power.

The removals are now displayed within the Netflix application with “Last day to play” notices:

Removal Dates On Netflix Games

These games are also leaving alongside Civilization VI, which had its removal date pushed back from October to December. As always with removals, these dates are subject to change and could be renewed.

When we’ve previously reached out to Netflix about removals, a representative told us, “Just like with series and film, games will be removed from Netflix as licenses expire. Players will notice a “Leaving Soon” badge and be notified by the app itself well in advance of removal.”

Some games, either planned or previously on Netflix, have been released independently on the respective app stores. The biggest issue becomes for players in getting their game saves transported. As of right now, when games launch away from Netflix, your game saves are not transferred.

Netflix has now lost over a couple of dozen games over the past year, including notable titles like Hades, Monument Valley, TED Tumblewords, Rainbow Six: SMOL, and most recently, Steel Paws and Flutter Butterflies. Those are in addition to many titles being canceled in development and multiple studios being shuttered.
