Lisa Vanderpump‘s nephew, Sam Vanderpump, is revealing a severe health diagnosis.

The Made in Chelsea star, 28, opened up about the life-changing diagnosis he received from his doctor on the Monday, Oct. 27 episode of his reality show.

When his Made in Chelsea costar Ollie, 38, asked him how he was feeling after receiving the diagnosis, Sam told him that he planned to continue to do what he could to keep feeling “healthy” until he could get a liver transplant.

“The way I look at it, I’m healthy now. Hopefully, I remain healthy all the way up until one day [when] they’ll give me a call, and I’ll go in for a surgery. And then I wake up and I’ll be healthier,” Sam said on the show, per Us Weekly.

After the episode aired, Sam shared an Instagram post from the NHS Organ Donor to spread awareness on the shortage of organ donations. The agency noted in its post that “thousands of people are currently waiting for a life-saving transplant because not enough people agree to donate their organs.”

The agency added, “Our thoughts are with Sam and his family as they face this news. We hope that his courage in speaking out will offer inspiration to others.”

In a September Instagram post with Kidney Research U.K., Sam opened up about a health scare he had experienced in December 2024. He revealed that he had contracted sepsis, “a condition that arises when the body’s response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs,” after having “a severe asthma attack and weeks of flu-like symptoms.”

He also noted in his post that he “lived with a genetic liver condition and polycystic kidney disease (PKD)” which made him at “greater risk” to have “kidney failure if contracting sepsis.”

“Doctors told me my liver and kidneys weren’t functioning properly and there was a chance I’d be put into intensive care,” he told The UK Sepsis Trust. “I broke down, but thankfully, we were there just in time.”

“During the first 24 hours, I wasn’t responding to treatment, but by hour 48, I started to turn a corner. By day three, I asked the consultant if I was out of the woods. She looked at me and said, ‘No, you’re really not.’ That stuck with me,” he added, noting that he was eventually “discharged in time for Christmas.”

Since that experience, the reality star has gone on to mark several other milestones in his life, including his engagement to partner Alice Yaxley in March.

Sam shared a photo from the pair’s engagement photoshoot and captioned them, “She said yes 🤩 💍 23.02.2025.”

His aunt Lisa also celebrated the couple in the post’s comment section, writing, “Perfect couple. Congratulations again, darling … I love you.”
