An exciting new slice-of-life anime, Love Through a Prism, is coming to Netflix exclusively in January 2026! Starring Atsumi Tanezaki and Koki Uchiyama, the story follows an aspiring Japanese painter who enrolls at a prestigious British art school and gets more than she bargained for when she meets a handsome local, gifted aristocratic student. Love Through a Prism is an upcoming Japanese Netflix Original animated series created and co-written by the Boys Over Flowers creator, Yoko Kamio. The series is produced and animated by WIT Studio, with Kazuto Nakazawa as director.
Kamio shared the following with Netflix about her story:
“This is the story of Lili, who blazes through her time with love, courage, and romance. In our society, where it is becoming difficult to talk about hopes and dreams, and where common things we take for granted are fading away, I hope this series can be a light for those who watch it.”
When is the Love Through a Prism Netflix release date?
Netflix has confirmed that Love Through a Prism will be released exclusively on Netflix on January 15, 2026.

What is the plot of Love Through a Prism?
Lili Ichijoin is a Japanese exchange student who has travelled to England, where she has enrolled at Saint Thomas Art Academy, a highly prestigious school. However, her parents have set her a tough goal: reach the top of her class, or she must return to Japan. Her desire to reach the top intensifies after she meets Kit Church, an aristocratic student whose reputation as a painter precedes him, though emotionally detached. However, when Lili enters his life, her sincerity and resilience begin to change him.
Who are the cast members of Love through a Prism?
Atsumi Tanezaki voices Lili Ichijoin. She is most well-known for voicing Frieren and Anya Forger from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Spy x Family. She has also starred in popular anime such as Beastars, SDS: Four Knights of the Apocalypse, Dr Stone, and My Hero Academia.
Koki Uchiyama voices Kit Church. He is best known for his voice work in Hunter x Hunter, Horimiya, Haikyuu, Jujutsu Kaisen, Soul Eater, Yuri on Ice, My Hero Academia, Nisekoi, and Blue Lock.
