Kendall Jenner Says She Gets ‘Frustrated’ with Dad Caitlyn Jenner Over Their ‘Completely Different Views’

Kendall Jenner is keeping it real about her relationship with dad Caitlyn Jenner. 

On the Thursday, Oct. 30 episode of The Kardashians, the 29-year-old supermodel was seen sitting next to Caitlyn, 76, at a family gathering where the discussion turned to this year’s Los Angeles wildfires. 

Caitlyn insisted that her home in Malibu was safe and that she planned to sit outside the house with a hose instead of evacuating.

“I have to compartmentalize my relationship with my Dad in a way because I love her,” Kendall said of Caitlyn in a rare confessional interview. “She’s my dad. We have a good relationship. But sometimes I get frustrated with her with certain things because we just have completely different views on things.”

Despite their differences, Kendall added that she understands the importance of having Caitlyn stay in her life.

“Other than that, I always want to include her,” the reality star noted. “I know she doesn’t have a lot outside of her family, and I think that she gets lonely. You don’t ever want someone to be sad, especially your dad and someone you love and care about.”

Caitlyn has been an outspoken conservative and ran for Governor of California, losing the recall election in 2021. Kendall did not specifically cite Caitlyn’s politics during the episode, but Caitlyn’s ex-wife Kris Jenner has previously called out Caitlyn for publicly expressing her political views.

“You’re not a politician, but you think you’re a politician sometimes,” Kris told Caitlyn on a 2016 episode of I Am Cait. “Sometimes, when you talk to somebody about your views, not everybody’s going to always agree. And sometimes, you can get a little cranky [about that].”

Caitlyn’s appearance in Thursday’s episode marks a first for the family’s Hulu series. Though Caitlyn was a regular part of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, she had not been featured on The Kardashians until now.

Kris, 69, invited her ex to join the rest of the family for a final dinner at their Hidden Hills home, ‘El Dorado Meadow’. Caitlyn lived in the house while married to Kris and it was the main home featured on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. 

“Your Dad and I bought this house many years ago, and I think one person isn’t here that should be here to say goodbye with us to this house,” Kris said as the family stood in a circle holding hands before eating dinner. She said it “wouldn’t be the same” without Caitlyn there, too, before Caitlyn surprised the group by walking in.

Kris, who has had a tumultuous relationship with Caitlyn in recent years following their split, Caitlyn’s transition, and subsequent comments about Kris, admitted it was a challenge to decide to invite her ex. But ultimately, she decided it was the best thing to do for the occasion.

“It’s only right for Caitlyn to be here tonight, too, because she actually was part of all those amazing memories,” Kris said in a confessional. “It wasn’t just my house – it was our house.”
