‘Here Comes the Flood’ Netflix Heist Thriller: Now In Production & What We Know So Far

Netflix’s incredibly exciting heist thriller, Here Comes the Flood, starring Denzel Washington, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Robert Pattinson, is now in production, and here’s the latest on everything we know.

Here Comes the Flood is an upcoming Netflix Original heist thriller directed by Fernando Meirelles and written by Simon Kinberg. Audrey Chon, Simon Kinberg, and Fernando Meirells are listed as producers, with Samson Mucke listed as the executive producer.

The film has been through some churn over the past several years, with Jason Bateman originally attached to the project in 2021, and even Robert Downey Jr. was once in talks. However, what has been retained in the newest iteration of the project is the script written by Simon Kinberg.

What is the plot of Here Comes the Flood?

So far, only a short description has been officially released by Netflix:

“An unconventional heist movie about a bank guard, a teller, and a master thief in a deadly game of cons and double crosses.”

Who are the cast members of Here Comes the Flood?

So far, only three cast members have been confirmed: Denzel Washington, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Robert Pattinson.

Denzel Washington has yet to star in a Netflix Original series, but he has served as a producer on projects such as The Piano Lesson and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. One of the best actors of his generation, he has been nominated for a total of 9 Academy Awards, winning 2: Best Supporting Actor for Glory in 1990 and Best Actor for Training Day in 2002. He’s also well-known for his performances in films such as Malcolm X, Flight, Roman J. Israel, Esq., and as Robert McCall in The Equalizer franchise.

Daisy Edgar-Jones is another actress yet to star in a Netflix project. She is best known for starring in films such as Where the Crawdads Sing, Twister, and On Swift Horses. She has also starred in television shows such as War of the Worlds and Normal People.

Robert Pattinson has already starred in two Netflix projects: The Dauphin in The King and Preston Teagardin in The Devil All the Time. Arguably, he is most well-known for his time as Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise. However, he’s had an incredible career so far, starring in films such as The Lighthouse, The Batman, The Boy and the Heron, Tenet, and more.

No other cast members have been announced at this time.

What is the production status of Here Comes the Flood?

Reports that filming would begin on September 22, 2025, have been circulating since June 2025. Another update in a recent report in issue 1468 of Production Weekly, Here Comes the Flood, seemingly confirms this, and the shoot date is also being listed on the FTIA website.

Production will take place in New Jersey between September 22, 2025, and January 22, 2026. The production is also expected to take place in New York and is also rumored to head to Morocco.

When is Here Comes the Flood coming to Netflix?

With filming set to conclude in January 2026, the film could be released on Netflix by the end of 2026, but nothing official has been announced yet. 2027 could be the latest we see the movie come to our screens.
