‘Evil’ Season 4 Won’t Come To Netflix As Show Sets Departure Date
Any hopes for a season 5 Netflix revival for Evil also just went out the window…
The December 2025 removals have just been confirmed, and among them is the sad inclusion of Evil, the CBS-turned-Paramount+ show from Robert and Michelle King. All three seasons currently streaming are set to leave on December 31st, confirming that season 4 won’t be coming and that a season 5 revival isn’t on the cards.
The incredibly underrated series pairs Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, and Aasif Mandvi as an unlikely trio investigating supposed miracles, hauntings, and demonic activity. Herbers plays Kristen Bouchard, a forensic psychologist grounded in science. Colter is David Acosta, a priest-in-training driven by faith. Mandvi brings the tech-skeptic angle as Ben Shakir, the contractor who picks apart the gadgets and glitches behind the unexplained. Michael Emerson steals scenes as the unnervingly calm antagonist Leland Townsend, a man who seems to relish nudging people toward darkness.
This marks the second time the series has left Netflix. As you may recall, Netflix licensed the first season during an experiment with CBS, which bought a number of its broadcast titles for the streamer for a year in the hope of boosting its broadcast ratings. That first season touched down in October 2020 and was removed a year later. The series would move exclusively to Paramount+ for the remainder of its four seasons, serving as the first-run home through August 2024.
Netflix would go on to pick up the series again (seasons 1-2) in April 2024 and add the third season months later in December.
As we reported last July, much of the cast and crew following the re-addition to Netflix had signalled their hope that, if the show took off on the platform, we could see something akin to Manifest, with a huge surge in viewership and steam, leading to an unlikely season 5 renewal.
Did that surge come? Sadly, not really. Looking at the Netflix Engagement Reports, the series has picked up 14.3M views between the start of 2024 and through June 2025, and the first season peaked as the 664th most popular title on Netflix for H1 2024. That may not sound all too impressive, but given it was just in the US, that’s not bad by any stretch, but certainly not the performance that led to Manifest’s surprise and rare revival.
| Season | 2024 H1 Views | 2024 H2 Views | 2025 H1 Views | All Views |

| Evil: Season 1 | 3,300,000 | 2,100,000 | 1,400,000 | 6,800,000 |
| Evil: Season 2 | 2,600,000 | 1,600,000 | 1,200,000 | 5,400,000 |

Where will Evil stream after it leaves Netflix?
The good news is that the series is already on its new streaming home, Paramount+, and has been since season 2 was released. There, all four seasons are streaming, and we suspect that while it may be licensed elsewhere, it’ll remain a mainstay on that platform for the foreseeable future.
