Stranger Things might be on most of our minds going into December 2025, but there’s plenty of other new and exciting series to check out as well. In this post, we explore the most exciting new and licensed series coming to Netflix before the year ends.

Netflix will be ending the year on the highest note possible: the fifth and final season of Stranger ThingsBut don’t be fooled, the streamer has a glut of other series on the way, from a long-awaited western, to Man Vs Baby, to a few cult shows entering its library. Let’s take a tour!

The Abandons

Coming to Netflix: December 4

The Abandons transports viewers back to the 1850s in Washington, where two families battle for supremacy in the lawless frontier. The series stars both Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson.

The series originally had Sons of Anarchy’s boss, Kurt Sutter, at the helm. Fans initially thought that there may even be a link to Sons of Anarchy, given the Teller surname present in characters from both shows. However, Sutter departed the project late into filming due to creative differences. Suffice to say, we’re very interested in seeing what The Abandons is all about.

Man Vs Baby

British comedy legend Rowan Atkinson returns as Trevor Bingley in Man Vs. Baby. Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft: Season 2

Coming to Netflix: December 11

Tomb Raider media has had varied success over the years, but the adaptations keep on coming. There’s even a live-action series being developed at Amazon, with Sophie Turner set to star as Lara Croft.

Netflix has also dabbled in the franchise, debuting animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft in 2024, set after the events of the Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy games. The series received mixed ratings but garnered enough viewership to merit a second and final season. In season 2, Lara Croft discovers the whereabouts of stolen African Orisha masks and joins her best friend Sam (Karen Fukuhara) to retrieve them before they’re used to inflict worldwide destruction.

Emily in Paris is one of Netflix’s most popular original series. It stars Lily Collins as marketing executive Emily Cooper, who moves from Chicago in America to Paris, where she lends her expertise to a marketing firm.

What’s next? Emily in London? Emily in Barcelona?

It’s all come down to this. Will Stranger Things stick the landing?
